                            Cyclone

Cyclone in meteorology refers to any low pressure area with winds spiraling inwards. It is a natural calamity. Wind blows in violent speed with ferocious sound. Heavy rain, thunder and lightning are some other features of cyclone. It causes untold sufferings to our lives and properties. It destroys houses, crops, vegetables, trees etc in large scale. A lot of domestic animals die in the cyclone. Most of the people become homeless, shelter less and starved for many days due to cyclone. It snatches away many lives from us.  In fact, the cyclone leaves a terrible mark of destruction in its wake and no amount of relief can make good the loss. Cyclone is, no doubt a critical disaster. It cannot be correctly forecast by the barometer or by the weather-clocks. Therefore, disaster preparation and proper post disaster management can reduce the losses.

--------------------------------বাংলা অনুবাদ -----------------------------আবহাওয়াবিদ্যায় ঘূর্ণিঝড়টি নিম্নতর চাপের অঞ্চলকে বাতাসের অভ্যন্তরে ছড়িয়ে পড়ে বলে বোঝায়। এটি একটি প্রাকৃতিক দুর্যোগ। উগ্র শব্দের সাথে সহিংস গতিতে বাতাস বইছে। ভারী বৃষ্টি, বজ্রপাত এবং বজ্রপাত ঘূর্ণিঝড়ের আরও কয়েকটি বৈশিষ্ট্য। এটি আমাদের জীবন এবং সম্পত্তিগুলিতে অগণিত কষ্টের কারণ হয় । এটি বাড়িঘর, ফসল, শাকসব্জী, গাছ ইত্যাদি ব্যাপক পরিমাণে ধ্বংস করে দেয়। ঘূর্ণিঝড়ে প্রচুর গৃহপালিত প্রাণী মারা যায়। ঘূর্ণিঝড়ের কারণে বেশিরভাগ মানুষ গৃহহীন হয়ে পড়ে, আশ্রয় কম হয় এবং অনেক দিন অনাহার পায়। এটি আমাদের থেকে অনেক জীবন ছিনিয়ে নেয়। প্রকৃতপক্ষে, ঘূর্ণিঝড়টি তার পরিপ্রেক্ষিতে ধ্বংসের এক ভয়াবহ চিহ্ন ছেড়ে দেয় এবং কোনও পরিমাণ ত্রাণই ক্ষতিটিকে ভাল করতে পারে না। সাইক্লোন নিঃসন্দেহে একটি সঙ্কটজনক বিপর্যয় is এটি ব্যারোমিটার বা আবহাওয়া-ঘড়ি দ্বারা সঠিকভাবে পূর্বাভাস দেওয়া যায় না। অতএব, দুর্যোগ প্রস্তুতি এবং যথাযথ পোস্ট দুর্যোগ ব্যবস্থাপনা লোকসান হ্রাস করতে পারে।
