Hope you are fine! You might be aware of the spread of dengue all over the city. Many people got affected in my locality which insisted me to write to you as I care much about you. Dengue is a non-contagious disease as it never transmits from one person to other. It is spread only through the infected mosquitoes which are active during the daytime. If a non-infected mosquito stings to draw blood from the person who is affected with dengue virus, then the virus migrates to the salivary glands of the mosquito. When this mosquito stings another person, the virus gets transmitted to him. It cannot spread directly from one person to the other. I want you to take some precautions to prevent yourself from getting infected. It is advised to wear full pants and full sleeve shirts. Please do apply mosquito repellent creams all over the body parts which are not covered. Use mosquito nets while you sleep and stay away from the infected people. Also, make sure that you do not allow water to get stagnated for a long time as mosquitoes lay eggs in the fresh stagnated water.  These simple yet effective measures can greatly reduce our risk of dengue fever. At first, take my salam. I hope you are doing well at home. I wanted to write you a letter regarding the updates of my experience living in a hostel these past few months. I know you were a little hesitant about my hostel life.

You will be very happy to learn that our college hostel offers a good educational environment for the students. The environment of my hostel is very charming. Here I have met amazing students from all over Bangladesh. My hostel life is very happy and enjoyable. All the students are very helpful and friendly. We have to follow some rules and regulations provided by hostel authorities. We have a well-decorated dining room. We take our meals here, We have a common room, a library, a prayer room and a canteen in our hostel. There are necessary books in the hostel library. We are passing our leisure time by reading newspapers and magazines, playing indoor games and watching TV in the hostel common room.

I know you are worried about the food. But honestly, it is not as bad as we have expected. The food of the hostel canteen provides simple homecooked meals like dal, rice, roti, and vegetables etc. On weekends we also try our hands at cooking and cook kichuri, birani, chola, puri etc. together.

Classes are going well so far. I can study here attentively.  I enjoy my subjects but still Physics is my favourite. The teachers here are good and cooperative. There is an open field in front of my hostel. I have also joined the badminton club and cricket club at the college.

Above all, I am keeping fine here. Don’t worry about me.

I miss you all but hostel life is shaping me up. Take care and keep writing, I love receiving your letters.

 Dear Imran,

I hope you and your family are in great health. I received your letter yesterday. You have wanted to know about the annual sports day of our school. Now I am writing to share the excitement of a recent sports day that took place at our school.

The preparation for the sports day started a month earlier. Finally it was held 23rd December in our school playground. The sports began at 8 a.m. The D.C. was the chief guest and opened the sports. There were so many events like the sprinting and middle-distance races, high jump, long jump and other team sports like soccer and basketball. Students showcased their athletic prowess and sportsmanship making every moment a thrilling spectacle. I took part in the 200 meters sprint, the 400 meters race and the high jump. You will be happy to know that I got three first prizes. The prizes were a tab, a set of books and a scientific calculator. The chief guest and Headmaster gave away the prizes to the winners. Apart from the competitive spirit, the event fostered a sense of unity and sportsmanship.

I hope this letter gives you a glimpse of the fantastic sports event. I look forward to hearing about your latest adventures and activities.
