                                Climate Change

Climate means the typical weather conditions in a particular place. But the climate of the world is changing gradually for some irresponsible activities of human beings.

Climate change basically indicates changes in the earth’s weather, including changes in temperature and rainfall especially due to the increase in the temperature of the earth’s atmosphere. It is happening due to a decrease of oxygen and a rise of carbon dioxide and other gases. This warming of the atmosphere changes climate, and causes cyclones, floods and other natural calamities which are responsible for crop failure and loss of life. The carbon dioxide is given off when coal and oil are burnt. Moreover, trees which produce oxygen and receive carbon-dioxide are being cut down indiscriminately. Due to deforestation the world is experiencing global warming. As a result, the ice covering the North and South poles is melting and it may eventually lead to a rise in sea levels which can submerge many areas of the world. Scientists have already given warning that some parts of costal countries including Bangladesh may go under water due to climate change. To solve this problem, deliberate cutting down of forests must be stopped. Tree plantation programmes should be adopted soon. At the same time media can play role making people aware in this respect.

জলবায়ু পরিবর্তন

জলবায়ু বলতে কোন নির্দিষ্ট জায়গায় সাধারণত আবহাওয়ার পরিস্থিতি বোঝায়। কিন্তু মানুষের কিছু দায়িত্বজ্ঞানহীন কর্মকাণ্ডের জন্য বিশ্বের জলবায়ু ধীরে ধীরে পরিবর্তিত হচ্ছে। জলবায়ু পরিবর্তন মূলত পৃথিবীর আবহাওয়ার পরিবর্তনের ইঙ্গিত দেয়, তাপমাত্রা ও বৃষ্টিপাতের পরিবর্তন সহ পৃথিবীর বায়ুমণ্ডলের তাপমাত্রা বৃদ্ধির কারণে। অক্সিজেন হ্রাস এবং কার্বন ডাই অক্সাইড এবং অন্যান্য গ্যাসের উত্থানের কারণে এটি ঘটছে। বায়ুমণ্ডলের এই উষ্ণায়নের ফলে জলবায়ু পরিবর্তিত হয় এবং ঘূর্ণিঝড়, বন্যা এবং অন্যান্য প্রাকৃতিক দুর্যোগ ঘটে যা ফসলের ব্যর্থতা এবং প্রাণহানির জন্য দায়ী। কয়লা ও তেল পোড়াতে গেলে কার্বন ডাই অক্সাইড দেওয়া হয়। তদুপরি, যে গাছগুলি অক্সিজেন উত্পাদন করে এবং কার্বন-ডাই অক্সাইড গ্রহণ করে তাদের নির্বিচারে কেটে ফেলা হচ্ছে। বন উজানের কারণে বিশ্ব গ্লোবাল ওয়ার্মিংয়ের অভিজ্ঞতা লাভ করছে। ফলস্বরূপ, উত্তর এবং দক্ষিণ মেরুগুলিকে coveringেকে রাখা বরফ গলে যাচ্ছে এবং এটি অবশেষে সমুদ্রের স্তর বৃদ্ধি পেতে পারে যা বিশ্বের অনেক অঞ্চল নিমজ্জিত করতে পারে। বিজ্ঞানীরা ইতিমধ্যে সতর্ক করে দিয়েছেন যে জলবায়ু পরিবর্তনের কারণে বাংলাদেশসহ মূল্যবান কয়েকটি দেশের পানির নিচে যেতে পারে। এই সমস্যা সমাধানের জন্য, ইচ্ছাকৃতভাবে বন কাটা বন্ধ করতে হবে। শীঘ্রই গাছ লাগানোর কর্মসূচি গ্রহণ করতে হবে। একই সাথে গণমাধ্যম এই ক্ষেত্রে জনগণকে সচেতন করতে ভূমিকা রাখতে পারে।

*হে ঈমানদারগণ! তোমরা ঐসব সুস্বাদু বস্তু হারাম করো না, যেগুলো আল্লাহ তোমাদের জন্য হালাল করেছেন এবং সীমালংঘন করো না। নিশ্চয় আল্লাহ সীমা সীমালংঘনকারীদেরকে পছন্দ করেন না।(সূরা মায়েদা -৮৭)
