Global Warming

Global warming indicates a gradual increase in temperature of the earth’s atmosphere caused by polluting gases such as carbon dioxide which are collecting in the air around the world and preventing heat escaping into the space.

It is happening due to a decrease of oxygen and a rise of carbon dioxide and other gases like methane, nitrous oxide, chlorofluoro carbons (CFEs) and Ozone that trap the warmth of the sun. This warming of the atmosphere changes climate, and causes cyclone, floods and other natural calamities which cause crop failure and loss of life. The carbon dioxide is given off when coal and oil are burnt. As a result, the ice covering the North and South poles is melting and may eventually lead to a rise in sea levels which can submerge many areas of the world. Scientists have already given warning that some parts of costal countries including Bangladesh many go under water due to global warming. The total area of deserts is increasing every year. Many species of animals and plants are endangered with the threat of extinction. Deliberate cutting down of forests must be stopped. Tree plantation programs should be adopted soon. At same time media also play role in this respect. These are the measures I prefer to adopt with a view to stopping the global warming.

বৈশ্বিক উষ্ণতা

গ্লোবাল ওয়ার্মিং পৃথিবী বায়ুমণ্ডলে যেমন কার্বন ডাই অক্সাইডের মতো দূষণকারী গ্যাসগুলি সারা বিশ্বে বাতাসে সংগ্রহ করে এবং মহাশূন্যে তাপ ছড়িয়ে পড়া রোধ করে তার দ্বারা সৃষ্ট তাপমাত্রায় ক্রমান্বয়ে বৃদ্ধি নির্দেশ করে। অক্সিজেনের হ্রাস এবং কার্বন ডাই অক্সাইড এবং অন্যান্য গ্যাস যেমন মিথেন, নাইট্রাস অক্সাইড, ক্লোরোফ্লোরো কার্বনস (সিএফই) এবং ওজোন সূর্যের উত্তাপকে আটকে রাখার কারণে এটি ঘটছে। বায়ুমণ্ডলের এই উষ্ণায়নের ফলে জলবায়ু পরিবর্তিত হয় এবং ঘূর্ণিঝড়, বন্যা এবং অন্যান্য প্রাকৃতিক দুর্যোগ ঘটে যা ফসলের ব্যর্থতা এবং জীবনহানির কারণ হয়। কয়লা ও তেল পোড়াতে গেলে কার্বন ডাই অক্সাইড দেওয়া হয়। ফলস্বরূপ, উত্তর এবং দক্ষিণ মেরুগুলিকে  আচ্ছাদন করে রাখা বরফ গলে যাচ্ছে এবং শেষ পর্যন্ত সমুদ্রের স্তর বৃদ্ধি পেতে পারে যা বিশ্বের অনেক অঞ্চল ডুবে যেতে পারে। বিজ্ঞানীরা ইতিমধ্যে সতর্ক করে দিয়েছেন যে বিশ্বসহ উষ্ণায়নের কারণে বাংলাদেশসহ বহু ব্যয়বহুল দেশের কিছু অংশ পানির নিচে পড়েছে। প্রতি বছর মরুভূমির মোট আয়তন বাড়ছে। বিলুপ্তির হুমকিতে বহু প্রজাতির প্রাণী ও উদ্ভিদ বিপন্ন হয়ে পড়েছে। ইচ্ছাকৃতভাবে বন কাটা বন্ধ করতে হবে। শীঘ্রই গাছ লাগানোর কর্মসূচি গ্রহণ করতে হবে। একই সাথে মিডিয়াও এই ক্ষেত্রে ভূমিকা পালন করে। এগুলিই বিশ্বব্যাপী উষ্ণায়ন বন্ধ করার লক্ষ্যে আমি গ্রহণ করা পছন্দ করি।

*হে ঈমানদারগণ! তোমরা আল্লাহ তা’আলাকে ভয় করো। প্রত্যেক ব্যক্তির উচিত, আগামী কালের জন্যে সে কি প্রেরণ করে, তা চিন্তা করা। আল্লাহ তা’আলাকে ভয় করতে থাক। তোমরা যা করো, আল্লাহ তা’আলা সে সম্পর্কে খবর রাখেন। (সূরা আল হাশর -১৮)
