The Game I like Most
Games and sports denote a set of activities with the help of some required entities to be done by human being according to some hard and fast rules and regulations in order to stay healthy and become stronger. Games and sports provide us with a relief from the monotony and boredom of life and again strengthen the particular organs of our body. The types of games are so many including outdoor games, indoor games, native and foreign games etc.
Football is played in an open large field covering 110-120 yards length and 70-80 yards breadth with two goal posts at each of the two opposite ends of the arena and a centre and a penalty box. A bar is tied on the goal posts which is eight feet above from the ground.
The game is played between two teams each consisting of eleven players. Of them there is a goal keeper, two backs, three half backs and five forwards on each side. To play the game a ball is set on the centre. The goal keeper interrupts the ball from entering the net if enters the opposite team earns a goal. Two backs play on the defensive and the three half backs act as both defenders and offenders. Five forward players try to make their best shot to kick the ball between the goal posts of the opposite team without catching it with hands. The whole game is generally played for ninety minutes dividing into two equal halves with an interval. A referee with two linesmen supervises the game smoothly and properly. If any player performs his role in a wrong way or makes any foul, the referee warns him showing up yellow card. At the end of the match the victory goes to those who score more goals than the opponent.
The game of football teaches its players to be obedient, punctuated, disciplined, cooperative and also follow leadership. It fosters the sublimity of love and brotherhood. On the contrary too much involvement to the game often makes the students impassive towards their studies. Rivalry in the play always leads to disputes and sometimes it turns into a battlefield.
